Plan your sleep schedule
Stay up late tomorrow (Wednesday) or get up early on Thursday (or both) so that you're tired enough to go to bed right after work. Then you can wake up right at the BWE start time for your particular time zone and go until you hallucinate sometime Saturday morning.
Any of you students out there hardly need to plan a sleep schedule as any self-respecting gamer better have pulled an all-nighter at some point in their academic career. My record is 42 hours of being awake and I suppose I could have made 48 but there just wasn't a point to it.......that and the walls were starting to move.

I have mine planned out already. Wake up a few hours earlier on Thursday Morning, and then go to bed about 4 hours early on Thursday night to wake up a few hours after the beta starts.

73 hours... whooo. I knew it was getting out of hand when I got a phone call and picked up the soda bottle next to the phone and started talking into it. The answering machine had picked up by then, so I thought they could hear me. I didn't catch my mistake until I tried to hang the phone up...
But for this weekend I'll use the standard rotation I have for the last two. Take a 4-6 hour nap Thursday evening until half an hour before the event is set to open.. Then play for the next 18 hours. Take another 4 hour nap... Play for the next 18.... 4... 18...etc. That allows for ~52 hours of game time after you factor in time for eating and some sort of basic hygene.

Already got mine planned out. Doing the same thing I did last month. Goto bed real early Thursday night, wake up in time for the BWE to start(2a.m. here), play till I have to goto class, play between classes. Then I have to take a 4 hour break so I can drive to my parents house. Then play till I can't hold my eyes open. Saturday and Sunday, play from wake to sleep.
And I have been off Caffeine(sp?) for 3 weeks, so just a little should have a nice effect.

Bah why all this planning when you can just take some speed . I will admit to staying up till i can't keep my eyes open but planning your weekend out... is their an AA for gamers?
BTW I don’t condone the use of drugs or alcohol... well maybe just drugs.

Plan what?
Someone please tell me how I can keep my eyes peeled this entire weekend... I was thinking paper clips or something and stapling it to my head! I'd be happy to have someone re-introduce me to sleep and the entire concept behind it once this weekend has ended. Til then... the zombie in me has awoken!
The only time I HAVE to miss is the first few hours once it opens since I'll be working until 6am! Once I'm on, and my wife is sleeping, I'll be all over this thing! Time to see the walls crawling once I'm done with this weekend!

Duct tape- it's the only way. I myself will go to bed early on Thurs. and wake up early on Fri. It saved me some grief last BWE, when they didn't get started until an hour or two before I got up... I slept right through that.

Break toothpicks in half blunt the ends and use them to hold open eyelids. A second method would involve duct tape and super glue...but I would not recommend that one.....

Sleep?... Who needs sleep... only bathroom breaks, and those only when the eyes are floating!

without the limitations of school in the morning, i am nocturnal. and i can stay up very late (or early, depending on how you look at it) or stay awake for days (i think 5 is the record... and with hard work during the day time hours...)

Nice, I was just above 48 when I saw two parallelograms (one blue, one pink) at the front of the lecture hall, floating there and rotating back and forth. So, I left.

Argh, English couldn't have come on a worse day, Friday. So I'm going to try and get to sleep early on Thursday so I can get up early enough to push about 2 hours of game in before class, and when I'm done with that, I will proceed with GW as usual. I plan to sleep very, VERY little this weekend.

There's always that 4-6 hour timeframe that really kills you when pulling the all-nighter. Once you clear hour 30 or so, 30 to 40 is a breeze. Beyond 40 can be counter productive from a gaming standpoint because A LOT of things have slowed down in your body. I couldn't type anything accurately to save my life. Things start moving on screen that really aren't moving to say nothing of the walls and the floor.
There's also no such thing as a nap after a certain point because any sleep you get would rival that of a coma patient or animal hibernation. It's the best sleep you'll ever get in your life......and well worth whatever suffering you had to get there. All the better if that "suffering" was spent playing Guild Wars the whole time.
